About Rumsin A. Khoshaba
Rumsin grew up in the suburbs of Chicago. Throughout high school and college, Rumsin worked as a server and bartender at many of Chicago’s hallowed institutions, such as The Second City Comedy Club and Chili’s.
Between college and law school, Rumsin accepted a fellowship in Boston at one of New England’s oldest and largest non-profit institutions where he focused on providing intersectional trainings for organizations that provided mission-specific services to at-risk communities in order to help them better meet their communities’ needs in a more holistic fashion.
Rumsin attended law school at the University of Iowa College of Law where he was a writer and editor for the Iowa Law Review, a research assistant for the incomparable Professor Steven J. Burton, a part-time law clerk for Presiding Justice Katheryn E. Zenoff, and a full-time law clerk for the Southern District of Iowa’s US Attorney’s Office. Rumsin graduated with high distinction and was nominated for and inducted into Iowa’s chapter of the Order of the Coif.
After law school, Rumsin spent his first decade of legal practice protecting corporate interests around the country for some of Chicago’s top law firms and companies. During this period, he discovered a passion for employment law and a zeal for aggressive litigation.
Rumsin founded RAK Law LLC because he wanted to put his legal experience to work for people like you. He is committed to providing clients with individualized, effective representation while understanding that employment disputes can be extremely stressful, overwhelming, and intimidating for the people involved. Clients can count on Rumsin to be sensitive to their particular situation and concerns and to guide them through the legal process with competence, empathy, and care.
Rumsin is admitted to practice law in the state of Illinois.
Fun Fact: Rumsin’s name comes from the ancient Mesopotamian king, Narām-Sîn. He was the first Mesopotamian king to declare himself divine, styling himself Narām-Sîn, God of Akkad, King of the Four Quarters and King of the Universe. Rumsin acknowledges that there is a lot to live up to there.
